Something that is more than obvious to anyone with any basic knowledge of civics or history is that Donald Trump doesn’t have the slightest clue what he’s doing in the White House. And when he doesn’t know what he’s doing, he makes things up as he goes along or put things in the improper context which, in turn, make him look like a giant moron.
While visiting with the President of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela, Trump decided to talk about the Panama Canal:
“The Panama Canal is doing quite well. I think we did a good job building it…”
If by “we” he means the United States and former President Teddy Roosevelt, then sure, but he makes it seem like it was one of his many gaudy hotels. Also, why the hell would you even say that? The canal was built 100 years ago and to mention it now just makes him look like a jerk trying to claim credit for something he didn’t do and hold it over the head of another world leader while saying, “look what we did for you.”
Also, Panama just sunk $5.25 billion into expanding the canal to increase its capacity.
Trump would be much better off just reading scripted dialogue from those who actually know what they’re talking about, then staying quiet and smiling for the camera.
Trump is insufferable.
