On Sunday, Trump propagandist Kellyanne Conway dropped some right-wing knowledge on those poor peasants on Medicaid who will lose coverage under the GOP’s hateful healthcare plan:
Appearing on ABC’s “This Week,” Conway complained that the Affordable Care Act “opened” Medicaid up to people who were healthy enough to work.
“Obamacare took Medicaid, which was designed to help the poor, the needy, the sick, disabled, also children and pregnant women, it took it and went way above the poverty line to many able-bodied Americans,” Conway whined, adding that people who lose coverage “should probably find other — at least see if there are other options for them.”
“If they are able-bodied and they want to work, then they’ll have employer-sponsored benefits like you and I do,” Conway said.
The Huffington Post‘s Johnathan Cohn points out that most “able-bodied” people on Medicaid already have jobs… as “parking lot attendants and child care workers, manicurists and dishwashers ― in other words, low-paying jobs that typically don’t offer insurance.”
In other word, if they lose Medicaid, they lose their insurance. Period.
